Obituary of Craig Anthony
Please share a memory of Craig to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
With deep sorrow and gratitude for a life well lived, the family of Craig Anthony announce his passing which occurred in his home on January 7th, 2025, in the loving arms of Pat, his wife of 59 years. Dad had proudly celebrated his 80th birthday on December 11th, surrounded by his loved ones.
Regarded as a pillar of his community, Craig was a proud supporter of many associations and clubs. Always willing to lend a hand, he generously shared his time, knowledge, and wide-ranging skillset with those in need. Though many knew him as a man dedicated to his farm, Craig also celebrated a distinguished 25-year career with the Department of National Defence, where he served as a Quality Control Inspector for Fire Control Combat Systems at the Dockyards. No stranger to hard work from a young age, he continued to demonstrate an unwavering work ethic throughout his life, long after retirement.
Craig’s extensive collection of antique farm equipment, termed ‘Blast to the Past’ and proudly displayed ‘down by the river’ in the heart of Kennetcook, is a true testament to his passion for preserving history. Whether it was reviving long-buried steam engines, restoring International Harvester equipment, crafting barrels with skill and passion, building and operating sawmills or print presses, Dad brought these historical machines back to life in a way that transported visitors to a simpler time.
In addition to all of Dad’s accolades, he was a devoted family man. He is survived by his wife Pat (nee Barron), daughters Charlene (Les), Annette (Les), Barb (Alan) and Debbie (Stephen). A proud Papa to his grandchildren Alexa (Zachary), Courtney (Graham), Hannah (Tyler), Madison (Devon) and Tyler (Lynn), and his 3 great granddaughters Clara, Adeliah and Madelyn. Predeceased by his parents Paul and Adeline Anthony, brother Blair, as well as mother in-law Estelle “B”, and father in-law Lyall.
Forever loved and missed, Dad’s legacy will continue to stand proud at the center of his community.
“A golden heart stopped beating, Hard-Working hands at rest, God broke our hearts, To prove to us, He only takes the best. We love you, forever and always.”
Cremation has taken place with no visitation or funeral at personal request. A Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.
