I have so many good memories of Phil. As a member of staff at Bridgewater High School, he was always upbeat and tried to provide meaningful activities for his students, including wearing pots on their heads - sounds kooky but it had a purpose. That was Phil. I enjoyed our chats and I so appreciated his support. Rest in peace Phil. It was an honour to have known you.

Phil was a ray of sunshine when he walked into a room. He lit up everyone's life he came in contact with. He brought to them joy and laughter. He knew how to listen, care and encourage others. Don't matter what life through at Phil, he always remained positive. He will be missed dearly. I will cherish all the wonderful memories. Sending love to his family, I am so sorry for your loss. Phil was a treasure gone way too soon. A la prochaine Phil.

Mr Watson was an excellent teacher at BHS and helped me grow as a student. He had an uncanny ability to engage junior high aged students and keep them interested in the lesson. His quick wit and humour made all kinds of students love his classes. I was saddened to hear of Mr Watson's passing, and send condolences to his family and friends. - James Brunt

An absolutely devastating loss for all Bridgewater Junior Senior french students. Mr.Watson brought so much joy and humor to our day. Class was always half learning, half laughing and he believed in every student and was so encouraging.
He was always found with a timmies coffee in hand. Even after I graduated I would see him in the drive through.
I still say "Mon Pauvre Grandmere....post nasal drippe". It's a weird thing, you really had be there.
Anyways, next time your drinking your timmies, don't forget to cheers to his memory.

Former CTR participant and coach from 2008-2014 here! M. Watson was someone who was always in your corner no matter who you were, and his classes thought us so much more than what was in the textbook. I learned how to stand up for myself cause we were always given the chance to defend our test answers, I figured out how to laugh through the awkwardness and embarrassment of jr. High through his social games, and I learned to think outside the box because Watson threw it out the second you stepped into his class. It makes me so sad to know that more kids won’t learn these lessons from the master anymore, but luckily the ones that got the chance to will make impacts with these skills that I’m sure he’d be proud of.
Cheers to a wonderful man who lived life authentically and left his mark on so many in his too short life, we’ll miss you Phil.

I enjoyed my many conversations with Mr Watson. He was my son,Travis, teacher at BHS. We travelled to Europe with Mr Watson and had an amazing trip. Every time I would visit the school even after Travis had graduated , I always stopped in to see him and have a chat.
I know he will be sadly missed. Until we chat again !

Philip: I first met him when he came to teach at Parrsboro. We became friends right away--he was so much fun to be around. I remember joining him for a week in Toronto, in the summer of '95. Always a Tim Hortons, he had his favourite in Toronto complete with a cast of characters. We went to "The Phantom of the Opera". I am so glad I visited him last summer--he was still upbeat. Brilliant command of French. He was my friend. I will miss him. Roger Brown

As a former student who was deeply moved, inspired, and influenced by Phil, both inside and out of the classroom, I am heartbroken to hear of his passing. He afforded me some of my favorite moments growing up, and someone I could call a friend and mentor. I will deeply miss, and always cherish, our conversations. Au revoir.
