Obituary of Janie White

White, Janie – 81 of Upper Kennetcook, passed away peacefully at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, on January 13, 2025. Born in Kennetcook on January 16, 1943, Janie was 1 of 13 children to the late Maurice and Lotta (Ells) Beach. Janie spent her life raising her daughters. Those who knew her well, know that she loved spending time with family and friends playing guitar, and singing with her brothers. She attended many jamborees with her brothers Earl, Clyde, and sister Mabel. Janie enjoyed playing darts at the Legion, playing a good game of washers which always ended with playing guitar. She would have card games with family into the early hours of the morning. Most of all, Janie loved spending time with her granddaughters. Janie is survived by children Libbie, Pam (Mark); granddaughters Josie, Monica; brother Clyde (Frances); sisters Vera and Mable; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Janie is predeceased by husband Robert (1975); common-law-husband Henry (2024); brothers Theodore, Walter, Earl, Harry, Henry, Charlie, Bill, Stan; sister Grace. Libbie and Pam would like to extend a special thanks to the EHS, VON nursing, the staff at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, especially Mom’s personal care workers, Jessica and Crystal. They helped so much showing great compassion to our mom, we thankyou from the bottom of our hearts. Cremation has taken place, respecting mom’s wishes, there will be no visitation, a Graveside Service will take place in the spring of 2025.
