Lantz, Agnes May – 89 of Windsor, formerly of Cambridge Hants Co. passed away peacefully at her home in Kendall Lane, Windsor, on January 1st, 2024. Born in Cheverie NS on March 2nd, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Harry and May (Par) Brown. “It could be said that Agnes embodied love and devotion to her family, friends, and community. A wife for more than 70 years; a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, Agnes and husband Whitman also opened their hearts and home to many foster children who became part of their family. In later years, while living at the Kendall Lane apartments, she enjoyed socializing with and putting smiles on the faces of fellow residents and caregivers. Whether it was in Cambridge, Walton, or Summerville, Agnes was a devoted member of her church congregation. She served as an official for the Cambridge Baptist Church for many years. She organized and taught Sunday School for generations of children in Cambridge and would always have them put on Christmas concerts and other plays and recitals for special occasions. Agnes enjoyed playing games such as Crokinole and Scrabble with family and friends, and usually came out on the winning end. She enjoyed and was very skilled at cooking and baking and enjoyed attending sewing circle for many years. She loved nature and animals, and raised goats for many years, providing family members with fresh goat’s milk. Agnes was a well-read person and could recall and recite countless poems, verses, and rhymes until her final days. She also had a great knack for word and jigsaw puzzles.” Agnes is survived by daughters Joy (Rod) Lake, Gerry Smith, Janice (Ken) Wilson; son Harry (Mary Lynn) Lantz; grandchildren Kirk Starratt, Yvonne McCulloch, Phil Lake, Dawn Smith, Brian Smith, Tara Beckman, Keith Lantz, Ken Lantz; foster-sons Arthur and John Henry; 12 great-grandchildren; 7 great-greatgrandchildren; sister Ada Starratt. Besides her parents, Agnes is predeceased by husband of 71 years, Whitman, daughters Beverly, Mary, son in infancy, brothers Norman, Bernard, Lowell, Kendall, Charles, Rodney, Malcolm, sister Janie, grandson Mark Starratt. A Visitation will be held Friday, January 5th, 2024, from 1 to 3pm in the J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Summerville. A Service will be held Saturday, January 6th, 2024, at 2pm in the J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Summerville, Rev. Garnet Parker and Rev. Betty Parker officiating. Donations in memory of Agnes can be made to Bramber Cemetery NS, c/o Dawn Barkhouse; 6997 Hwy 215, Bramber NS B0N 2R0 or High Head Cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thanks to granddaughter Yvonne for all her help over the years. “Goodbye my family, my life is past. I love you all to the very last.
