Obituary of Fred Strong

Strong, Frederick “Fred” Clifton – 87 of Union Corner NS, passes away on November 6th, 2023, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, surrounded by family and loved ones. Born in Windsor NS on September 22nd, 1936, Fred was the eldest son of the late Clifton and Kathleen (Taylor) Strong.
Fred had numerous jobs throughout his life, including farm-work, Department of Highways and in later years he worked on Haliburton Farms in Kings County.
Fred is survived by companion Nettie Mae Porter; children Brenda Schnare, Cindy Powell and Freddie Strong; siblings Elsie Leverman, Marion White, Kenny, Johnny, Shirley Doucette.
Besides his parents, Fred is predeceased by sister Geraldine.
Donations in memory of Fred can be made to the Riverview Haven Cemetery Fund, Brooklyn or a charity of ones’ choosing.
A Graveside Committal Service will be held on Thursday, November 16th, 2023, at 2pm in the Riverview Haven Cemetery, Brooklyn Hants County. A Reception will follow the service from 3 to 5pm in the Belmont Community Hall – 1090 Belmont Rd
