Obituary of Roy Collister

Collister, Roy “Skip” William – 77 of Upper Burlington NS, passed away peacefully on October 22nd, 2023, in the QEII Hospital, Halifax. Born on May 28th, 1946, in Greenfield Quebec, Roy was the son of the late Richard Collister and Margaret Greenough. As a young man Roy began his journey as a cadet, instilling structure and strong work ethic which would later help him earn his carpentry ticket in Montreal Que. Roy then met his future wife, Mary Anne and spent many happy years living in various parts of Canada including Quebec, Ontario, Alberta and Nova Scotia. Roy and Mary Anne raised two beautiful daughters, Paulina and Colleen, where they lived on a hobby farm in Alberta enjoying horse back riding and all natures tranquility. Roy “Skip” will be remembered for his quick wit, charming manner and will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. Roy is predeceased by his daughters Paulina and Colleen (1998), brothers Eddie, Richard and Gerard, sister Mary, brother-in-law Victor McCarthy and sister-in-law Diane Bate. There will be a visitation held on Saturday November 4th, 2023, from 2 to 4pm at the Collister residence – 538 North River Road, Upper Burlington NS. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of the JW Allen Funeral Home, Hwy 215 Summerville (Phone 902-633-2431).
