Gorman, Ronald Malcolm – 83 of Gormanville, passed away peacefully at The Magnolia, Enfield on August 14, 2023. Dad was born on March 23, 1940, to the late Lincoln and Angeline (White) Gorman. He will forever be missed by his special friend Julia White, Enfield. He is survived by sons Kimble (Jennifer) Lakelands and Donald (Jody) Montague, PE; grandsons Quinton Gorman, Bedford, and Alexander Gorman, Lakelands; and by his wife and mother of his sons, Freda Gorman, Charlottetown, PE. He is also survived by sisters Elaine Tucker, Truro, Brenda Barkhouse, Pigott Lake, Eleanor MacDonald (Phillip), Gormanville, sister-in-law Rose Gorman, Winnipeg, MB, and brother-in-law Ross MacPhee, Upper Rawdon, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who all loved their Uncle Ron. Dad is predeceased by grandson, Avery; brother, Vance; and sister, Marilyn. Dad’s long career with the Bank of Nova Scotia began in Kennetcook at the age of eighteen and took him to various places throughout the Maritimes, where he made many lifelong friends. Friendships and family were very important to Dad. He ensured we spent as much time as possible with family in Nova Scotia over the years, so we could remain close to our grandparents and extended families, just as he had. Dad’s heart truly was in Gormanville with his family and friends. A strong community advocate, Dad always enjoyed supporting and watching the local guy or team do well. Dad had numerous hobbies and played many sports. He was a hunter, fisherman, ballplayer, curler, forager, furniture restorer, and camp builder, to name just a few. He could always be counted on as “Foreman Gorman” to provide expert supervision on almost any job. He did like to joke and tease his nieces, nephews and a few others. Many will recall, “Pull my finger.” We thank the staff of both Elk Court and The Magnolia for the care provided to Dad. There will be no visitation. A private family graveside service will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of the J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Hwy 354, Kennetcook, ph-1-902-362-2440 or please visit our website at www.allenfh.ca to sign the guest book and send private condolences.
