Obituary of Vincent McLaughlin

McLaughlin, Vincent Patrick - 76 of Glen Haven passed away peacefully Saturday April 8, 2023, in the QEll hospital, Halifax. Born in Herring Cove on January 20th, 1947, he was the son of the late Edward and Lillian (Scallion) McLaughlin. In Vincent's words he was a jack of all trades and master of none. He had a great sense of humor and was a very kind, generous person. Vincent loved going up the country to Moosebrook to visit Joan’s parents (the late Edna and Walter Powell) where Edna always fed him very well which he was very appreciative of. No matter where he went, Vincent always loved talking with people, he could talk the ear off an elephant. Vincent loved sitting in his shed listening to country. Vincent was very happy when company came to visit. Vincent is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Joan (Smith) McLaughlin; sister Margaret Comeau, brother in-law Barry (Rosemary) Smith, sister in-law Cassie (Bill) McLellan. Besides his parents, Vincent is predeceased by brothers, Jack and James and sister, Jean. In keeping with Vincent's wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service, a private family burial will take place at a later date. Donations in memory of Vincent can be made to charity of ones’ choosing.
