Although we grew up in adjoining neighborhoods, went to the same school, rode the same school bus, George was a bit older, and in a grade above me. I knew who he was, but it wasn't until we both played Junior Softball that we ever spoke. I got a base hit, and when I got to 1st the more experienced and older George was coaching first base. He looked at this fat, slow kid (me), gestured to the pitcher and said "he ain't looking. As soon as the ball leaves his hand run like hell to 2nd". It was good advice, and George's advice would always be good. We hung out at the Meadowview Community Center teen dances. There were many happy times. We worked together at McDonald's. He taught me how to cook breakfast. There were adventures too. He was one of those rare peers who come along in your youth that you admire and trust. Those are qualities that don't come easily in a person's formative years. More recently it was an absolute joy to be reacquainted with George and to meet Anita. I was so looking forward to visiting and joining the crowd at the Cambridge Jam. George certainly brought happiness to this life, and I will cherish his memory. Please accept my deepest regrets.

Q: What will you never forget about George?
A: George I’ll never forget our trip to Boston to see your Habs play. We gave you a hard time when they lost, even the fans were teasing you. Your Canadian hockey sweater stood out in our section at the Garden. You lost your ticket for the 2nd game but managed to get in anyway, too many pops. The hotel gave our room to someone else. They said it was the storm of the century. So after the game we had drive to Kittery before we could get a room. All and all we had a fun trip. You kept us laughing through it all. Sorry to hear you got benched old friend. God Bless.

My deepest condolences to family and friends. George and his friends used to skateboard on my street back when we were teenagers. One day he offered me the use of his and I gave it a try, not knowing how to stop. I still have scar from my fall. I remember it vividly.

We are so sad to hear of George's passing. A fond memory I have of George is one time (we were both in the kentville fire department)George unbeknown to me put water in my fire boot and we had a call and I had to go to the call with a very wet foot. But I got him back a little while later when he had to go next time with a broken egg in his. Oh George you will be missed buddy. Take care up there and we will see you again. Our condolences to your family. ♡♡

George was an amazing man. One thing he liked to do was play pranks on others until he met up with Terry and I. We used a prank call that was called “Your Daughter, She Kicked My Dog”. You finally got played my friend.
Our thoughts are with your family during this difficult time. RIP George you will be fondly remembered and missed
