Will always remember her easy going approach to everything she did.
In 2001 when she was in charge of my son Mark's wedding meal she would check in with me daily to let me know what type of wedge potatoes she was trying out at the nursery school that day to possibly be the recipe for the wedding reception. There was no stress when Karen was in charge. Your wonderful memories of your Mom are with you forever and will help you through the tough times.

I met Karen back at Hants West Rural High, most likely in Grade 7. Friendly and polite with a keen sense of humor, she is one of the students from that era that remained clear in my memory. Many years passed and we met again as members of the Windsor Regional High School Band Parents Association, when we each had a child in the band program. She hadn't changed a bit from her HWRH days. I send my condolences to the Auby family. Cheerish the great memories she left for you.

Shannon & Tom, Dana & Tammy, Karen is now free of her failing health. She was a strong woman and would not want to carry on this way. There is comfort in knowing that with a new body in heaven your mom is enjoying her time with David again. The Lord has called them both home and we will see them again one day. If we believe in the Lord, as we know that your mom did, we will receive God's promise of life in heaven after we die.
It's been a hard month for you. Remember the good times with your mom. This will help you get through the coming days and weeks. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Love Uncle Donnie and Aunt Anne (Auby)

I first met Karen in 1969 when we both lived in a boarding house in Rockingham and worked in Halifax. She took me under her wing and taught me about city life (we were both country girls). We had many fun trips in her little bug (which she even let me drive!) Karen had had a wonderful sense of humour.
After a year we decided to share an apartment in Bedford for a time, then Karen married Dave, and I married Brian and we had a lot of laughs and good times together at their home in Mt. Uniacke. Karen taught me how to decorate cakes (of course I never got as good as her).
Once children started arriving and Brian's job moved us all over the Atlantic region we didn't see each other as much, but always sent each other Christmas cards. And sometimes we would bump into each other picking strawberries in the valley.
Karen was a lovely person, and my heart goes out to her family in their loss.

My condolences to the Auby family. I met Karen through meetings with Directors of childcare centres when I was director of the Windsor Nursery School. She always had us in stitches with her humorous comments, and showed us what a dedicated and caring ECE she was. It was a pleasure to have know her in this capacity . She will be fondly remembered and missed by all who knew her! Sally Fischer

When we feel the love of someone it actually shines a brightness into our lives. Karen’s love and kindness has genuinely brightened so many of our lives. She gave without thinking. She just knew. She knew what we needed in that moment even though we may not have known at the time. Each time we were touched by her warmth and understanding it filled a corner in our hearts so much so that 40 years later her love radiates when we remember that special moment. Her love and light will still shine throughout Mount Uniacke through each of us (and there were hundreds) as we remember and honour her. Rest in peace our dear Miss Karen. Love and deepest sympathy to Shannon, Dana, Allan and families. Pam & Bob O'Brien

To Karen's family, hugs and prayers hugs and prayers from St Paul's family and us Brian and Anna - one of my first memories of working with Karen at a Strawberry Supper at St Paul's and the first usage of our green bin - after the supper was over and clean up on - Karen said 'Come with me please' - and I followed her out the side door to green bin - there we spent the next half hour or so, digging through food waste rescuing cutlery and other items - laughing our fool heads off - thanks for the laughter and the love Karen love Anna

Sincere condolences to all of Karen's family. I have not seen Karen for many years. When we were in grade 7, at Hants West, she would bring/send me my homwork assignments when I missed time due to illness. I seem to remember my Dad taking her a gift to thank her for her kindness.
