Obituary of Gary Lyon

Lyon, Gary Roger-76 of Windsor, formerly of Summerville, NS passed away peacefully at the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor on January 21, 2023, with family by his side. Born in Bedford on May 17th, 1946, he was the son of the late John and Lillian (Riley) Lyon. Gary spent the early years of his life growing up in Bedford before his family moved to Avondale, where he lived until moving to Summerville for the last 50 years. Gary was an auto mechanic and loved to build various pieces of equipment for his tractor and pickup truck. He had a love of Kubota tractors, a great sense of humour and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Gary is survived by his wife of 50 years, Betty (Nunn), daughters Shelley Lyon, Windsor, NS, Rebecca Leighton (Cayle), Poplar Grove, NS and son James Lyon (Michelle), Summerville, NS; granddaughter Zoe and grandsons Colton, Seth (Grace), Ronan and Jude; brothers Earl (Anne), Roy (Juanita), Donald, Reg (Paulette), Ralph and sister Mildred Levy (Leonard). He is also survived by several brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, an aunt and cherished friends. Besides his parents, Gary is pre-deceased by his brother David, first wife Judy (Barker), several aunts, uncles, brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law. A private Family graveside Committal service followed by a celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank the staff at the VG and Hants Community Hospital for the wonderful care Gary received.
