Tompkins (Spencer), Nora Kathreen, 79 of Gypsum Mines, passed away suddenly on September 5th, 2022, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Mount Denson on April 22nd, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Bert and Kathleen (Moore) Spencer. Loving wife, mother and grandmother; Nora spent most of her working career with the Nova Scotia Textile Mill until her retirement in 2004. She was an avid coin collector, quilter and seamstress. Nora was very proud to have made quilts for all her children and grandchildren. Nora is survived by husband of 62 years; Ron Tompkins, son Steven, daughters Linda Noonan, Nancy (Keith) Kersey, 4 grandchildren; Heather, Stacy (Tyler), Kara (Reece) Noonan, Spencer Kersey, great grandson; Avery O’Brien, sister; Doll Wile, sisters-in-law Margie and Arleyne Spencer. Besides her parents, Nora is predeceased by, daughter; Angel Dawn, granddaughter; Elizabeth Ann, brothers David and Billy Spencer, brother-in-law Ron Wile. A Service will be held on Saturday, September 10th, 2022, at 2pm in the Pentecostal Church, Lower Burlington, Pastor. Dale Frisson officiating. A private Family Burial will take place in the Armitage Rd Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in memory of Nora; to the Alzheimer Society – Alzheimer.ca, Heart & Stroke Foundation – heartandstroke.ca or charity of one’s choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of the JW Allen Funeral Home, Hwy 215 Summerville (Phone 902-633-2431).
