Hood, Alan Samuel – 84 of Garlands Crossing, NS, passed away on August 10th, 2022, in the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in Windsor on September 28th, 1937, he was the son to the late William and Francis (Shiers) Hood. Alan loved hunting, farming, drives, playing tricks, dances, and going to the Forties for dinners. Alan worked for Fundy Gypsum for over 40 years as a heavy equipment mechanic. Alan is survived by daughter Debbie Laffin, son Philip (Marilyn) Hood, sisters Joan Othred and Ruby Monroe. Grandchildren Christopher, Dustin, and Samantha and several great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. He is also survived by longtime friend; Joan Mcisaac. Besides his parents, Alan is predeceased by brothers Billy, Victor, sisters Mildred McReynolds, Elizabeth Demont, Mary Duchak, first wife Helena (Jollymore) Hood, second wife Shirley (Baltzer) Hood. The family would like to extend a special thankyou to the staff of Northwood Homecare and especially VON. A committal service will be held in memory of Alan on August 21st, 2022, at 11am in the Sandy Land Cemetery - 1075 Walton Woods Rd.
