Obituary of Hazel Spearing

SPEARING, Hazel Ann – 96 of Cambridge, Hants Co; It is with deep sadness that the family of Hazel Ann Spearing announce her passing on July 27, 2022, at Dykeland Lodge in Windsor NS. Born on December 27, 1925, she was the daughter of the late John Irving and Idella (Baker) Spearing. A lifelong resident of Cambridge, she had a love of nature – gardening, bird watching and trips to the beach. She was a whiz at all kinds of word puzzles, enjoyed reading, playing Scrabble, SkipBo and cribbage. Her world revolved around her family and her faith in God sustained her throughout her life. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother and a friend to all who had the privilege of knowing her and benefiting from her wisdom and wit. Surviving are sons, Mitchell (Janet) of Bear River East NS; Terry (Irene) of Saint John NB, and daughter Linda of Cambridge NS as well as special foster daughter, Wanda Isner, also of Cambridge; two grandchildren, Trevor (Adria) of Ellershouse NS and Lisa of Trenton, ON; four great-grandchildren, Hope, James, Taylor and Logan; and three great-great grandchildren, Zaney, Ryder and Arabella. Hazel was predeceased by her husband, Fred Spearing. The family wishes to express their appreciation for the compassionate care received at Dykeland Lodge. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request. A graveside service will be held at Cambridge High Head Cemetery on August 6, 2022, at 11 a.m., Rev. Garnet Parker officiating.
