WATSON, Maxine Minnie – 90 of Walton, NS, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2022, in Hants Community Hospital. Born in Sweets Corner, NS on February 8, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Gerald and Grace (Ellis) Cochrane.
Maxine moved to Walton in 1950 and made it her home for the rest of her life. She was a devoted member of St. Matthew's Anglican Church and Altar Guild, and an active member of her community. She enjoyed socializing with her neighbours and friends, whether gathering for a set of tennis in years gone by, or by simply sharing a cup of tea.
She enjoyed nature--flower gardening, shuffling through autumn leaves, full moons, spring peepers, and still got excited over the first snowfall. She took special interest in the hummingbirds and delighted in watching them at her feeder.
Maxine is survived by her daughter, Nancy Bond (Charles Bonn), Windsor; grand daughters that she adored, Angela Bond (BC), Erin Bond (NB); cherished great-grandsons, Nolan and Beckett (NB); sister, Mae Atwell; half-sister Donna Smith; half brothers Eric and John Cochrane; sister-in-law Helen Rafuse, Falmouth.
Besides her parents, Maxine is predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Harry, and sister, Sheila Weatherbed.
Special thanks to Dr. Amer Ahmad for his continuing care and kindness over the years; to the nurses and staff of HCH; and to her wonderful neighbours who, with their unfaltering concern and care, made the last years of her life pleasant and relaxed. We are forever grateful.
Cremation has taken place, a graveside service will take place at a later date.
