Obituary of Shirley Sexton

Sexton, Shirley Mae – 76 of Scotch Village passed away peacefully on April 10th, 2022, in the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in Windsor on February 23rd, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Evelyn (Swinamer) Morash. Shirley lived in Scotch Village for over 70 years and served her community as a member of the W.M.S and worked at the Scotch Village Gas & Convenience Store. She also worked as a secretary in her early years in Halifax then at Brooklyn District School as a duty teacher, librarian and janitor. Shirley enjoyed socializing with her friends and family over a game of bingo or bowling. She will be remembered for her witty personality that always brought smiles to a room and dearly missed by all who knew her. Shirley is survived by children Timothy (Shelley) Sexton, Kingston ONT, Jacquelyn Sexton (Brian Trider), Three Mile Plains grandchildren Montana Trider, Jocelyn Trider, Brenton Sexton, siblings Ann Wilson, Falmouth, Mary Lou Lain, BC, Donnie Morash (Joy), Stanley, Jim Morash, Pubnico, John Morash, Scotch Village and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Shirley is predeceased by Husband Charles Sexton, siblings Barbara Hart, Pauline in infancy, Margaret Lorencouitch, Donna Barkhouse and sister-in-law Linda Morash. There will be a Graveside Committal Service for Charles and Shirley Sexton held on Tuesday, April 19th, 2022, at 2pm in the Scotch Village Community Cemetery, Scotch Village, Rev. Garnet Parker officiating. A reception will follow the service in the basement of the Scotch Village Baptist Church.
