Obituary of Kendall Bruce

Bruce, Kendall “Ken”, Brian – 67 of Bedford formerly of Walton passed away peacefully on June 24th, 2021, at Ivany Place, Bedford, following a lengthy illness. Born in Tennecape on February 1st, 1954, he was the son of the late Aubrey and Cora (Huntley) Bruce.
Ken is survived by his wife Sandi (MacKinnon, Tarr), sons Michael and Jason, brothers Kenneth (Marion) and Kevin (Rebecca) along with several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents Kendall is predeceased by sister Lynda.
Ken was part of the local music scene, playing guitar and singing in several bands including Savannah and Smokey Ridge for many years. His career included 25 years with the Department of Justice as a Deputy Sheriff until his retirement in December, 2007. After retirement he volunteered with Greyhound Pets of Atlantic Canada (GPAC) doing over a hundred adoption home visits with Sandi, having a true love and appreciation for animals. He was an avid motorcyclist and had many great memories riding with his wife and friends.
Thank you to the nurses and physicians on 3 West, Dartmouth General Hospital for all their compassionate care during Ken’s lengthy stay. A very special thank you to all the staff on Periwinkle Cove, Ivany Place for all the kindness, compassion and exemplary care shown to Ken while he was a resident there.
There will be a private graveside committal service held at a later date, Rev. Debbie Mosher officiating.
