It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend on Saturday, December 12th at the age of 86 after a valiant fight with cancer in the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in Scotch Village May 12, 1934. Helen was the daughter of the late Gordon and Marion (Rose) Sanford.

She was a member of the Rawdon Hills United Church, Treasurer of the Centre Rawdon U.C.W. for 27 years; member of the Walton drop-in Seniors, Burlington Seniors, Senior Fellow-ship Cafe and an avid 45 card player. She went to the card parties every Saturday night in Rawdon Gold Mines, (Thanks Shirley).
Helen loved her home and would rather be there than anywhere else. Her favorite television program was the News. She followed the Blue Jays, never gave up on the Maple Leaf's and watched curling. She went to the one room schoolhouse in Scotch Village and Windsor Academy High travelling by train. Helen made the best mincemeat and made numerous pies for Christmas orders. She made jams and jellies for family and friends; crab apple jelly was the all favorite. Helen's favorite hymn was Precious Lord. Kyle, Eric Braydan and Carter, I will miss your hockey and ball games, hit a home run for Gram!
