Hi everyone, I will always remember my time with everyone when we went to visit Nova Scotia. And especially the time when I was playing with a bunch of lobsters on the balcony and uncle Edwin showed me the giant pot and clued me into what was going to happen to them all In order for us to have dinner that night! A lobster boil in Waverley complete with rolls and potato salad was a MUST when any western family came to visit. Dad would let you slide them into the pot (once he showed you how to do it).......always with an explanation of how humane the whole process was.

Grandpa loved Peggy’s Cove, and I’m so glad that he shared that love with me as it has become one of my favourite places. Also, he was always right there whenever you’d be doing a job for him to make sure you were doing it the right way. Might have borrowed his pants in that picture. :)

Ned and Adrian were the coolest Uncle's a kid could have and we were always so excited to see them when they came to visit! We could hardly wait for Ned to come home for visits when he lived away and in Montreal! And then one year Ned came home with the most beautiful woman! I still remember her at our house in Windsor forks. Me and my siblings were likely quite a shock to her! Lol. Some of my most wonderful memories were with Ned in at Halliburton and being pushed on the swing! Ned was so tall and he would do a run under and send me so high my stomach would come up in my mouth! I learned to drive using his black Volvo!! Was playing in it and managed to get it into neutral and coasted it into Grampies flower bed along side the original driveway at the cottage. :) rest in peace Ned.

Betty, Cheryl, Alana and Leslie, your father was a dear sweet man with always a kind word and the most beautiful smile. To say he will be missed by all is an understatement not just by his wonderful family but the congregation as well. His name "Edwin" was unique to me as it was my fathers second name and I always loved it, not a common name. When he was called on in the congregation I would just gently smile often. Dear Aunt Betty and my cousins Cheryl,Alana and Leslie and families, So many of my favorite family get togethers were with you all, whether it was visiting in St. Bruno or parties at Silversides or picnics in Grampie and Gramie's yard. They might look like the real deal .....but there was very little actual hunting by these two. There WAS a lot of chili, tea and 45's out at that camp in Stanley. Many in the family have had the pleasure of being out for a "hop, skip and a jump" with the many Barkhouse men in the family

To Aunt Betty, Alana, Cheryl & Leslie, We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Uncle Ned. Sheldon has fond memories of Ned up at Haliburton House, especially when Ned took him for a drive in his new Oldsmobile when he came home from Quebec in 1968/1969. When Sheldon & Tim moved out west in 1975, it was great to see their Uncle Ned & family in St. Bruno, Qc on their western adventure. Sending hugs to you all during this difficult time.
