Obituary of Hugh Currie

Currie, Hugh Grant "Hughie" -77, Lantz, formerly of Upper Kennetcook, passed away on Friday July 17, 20 in the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Windsor on Jan. 23, 1943, he was a son of the late Thomas ‘Buster" and Gladys Currie. He was raised in Kennetcook where he met his loving wife Maxine (Swinamer). Hughie was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be deeply missed. He was a hard worker and spent much of his younger years working in the wood industry and farming. He had a passion for working on cars and spending lots of time with family. He is survived by his wife Maxine, his children Dion (Cissy), Darcy, Shannon (Gerry) and Devon (Shelly) his 10 grandchildren Samantha, Cienna, Erin, Jessica, Brandy, Thomas, Chantel, Mandi, Erika and Ethan and great grandson Brayden, sisters Sharon, Debbie and Bonnie. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his grandson Tyler, sister Wendy, niece Stacey, nephew Shane, parents in law William and Marguerite Elliott and brother in law Cyril "Cykie" Swinamer. Cremation has taken place with no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held Sunday July 26 at 1 p.m. in the J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Hwy 354, Kennetcook. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions a minimum number of people will be allowed in the Funeral Home with social distancing. Service will be carried through the speaker system for anyone outside. Rev.
