Obituary of Doris Gaudet

Gaudet, Marie "Doris" (Comeau)-88 of Kennetcook, NS passed away peacefully at home where she wanted to be, with family by her side on Sunday, May 17, 2020. Born on May 27, 1931 in Meteghan Centre, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Marie (Theriault) Comeau. Mom never missed an episode of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, she loved to read keeping her mind just as sharp as ever as she fought her courageous battle with cancer for 16 years. Don’t let her quiet demeanor fool you; she loved a good laugh with her family and was always excited to have them visit at any time, but especially on holidays and special occasions. Nanny was kind-hearted, sweet-natured, and a soft-spoken lady with the most wonderful French accent. She will truly be missed by her family and those who were fortunate enough to have known her. Survived by children; Francis (Millie), Jerry (Roberta), Diana (Charles), Kenneth (Christina), David (Vanda), Paul, Scott, Brenda (Ray), Kevin (Rosalee). Siblings; Raymond (Patricia), and sister-in-law Marjorie. Nanny leaves 21 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren Doris was predeceased by Husband Gerald, brothers Felix and Ralph, sister Loretta, a grandson in infancy, and beautiful granddaughter Laura. A special thank you to Dr. Michelle MacLean for the special care she gave mom, we love you for your care and compassion; to all the VON care-workers, palliative care nurses and Vanda who helped care for mom in her last days. She will now be as beautiful an angel in heaven as she was on earth. She is safe in the arms of Jesus now. Cremation has taken place. Due to the current Nova Scotia Health regulations concerning the Covid-19 Virus, there will be a memorial service held at a later date.
