LYGHTLE - Gordon Richard, age 78, of Noel, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, November 30, 2018 at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Ellershouse on November 14, 1940, he was the son of the late Hughie and Madeline (Foster) Lyghtle. Gordon had a deep love of the outdoors, and spent many happy days at the camp fishing and hunting. He was a hard-worker all his life, devoting the first 35 years to NS Light and Power, then various truck driving jobs. In later years, his favorite pastime was visiting his numerous friends and family and attending any and all events that involved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Gordon will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 56 years, June; daughter, Jocelyn (Kirby) Brown; sons, Kevin (Laura) Lyghtle and Andrew (Kelly) Lyghtle; grandchildren, Shaun, Katie, Tara, Cayden, Brayden, Kaylee, and Braylee; 13 great-grandchildren; brother Brian (Iris) Lyghtle; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Gordon was predeceased by his brothers Bobby and Doug. Cremation has taken place; a Celebration of Gordon’s Life will be held on Tuesday, December 4 from 6-8pm at the Noel Fire Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Noel and District Volunteer Fire Department, 1639 Burncoat Rd, Noel, NS B0N 2C0. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of J.
