Obituary of Greta Jane Brown
BROWN – Greta Jane (Lake), age 59, of Bramber, passed away on August 14, 2018 at Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, with her family by her side. Born on July 6, 1959, she was the daughter of the late George and Stella (Brown) Lake. Greta worked at the Met Store in Windsor for many years before retiring due to illness, then worked occasionally at Selwood Green Farm. She was a hard-worker who never complained. A member of the Bramber New Horizons Club and Antique Car Club, Greta enjoyed Bingo and playing cards, particularly Canasta with Betty and Garnet. She loved flowers, birds, music and the occasional dance, but valued her family most of all. Greta is survived by her husband of 39 years, Brian “Mickey”; her daughter-in-law Sheena and grandsons Brayden and Nathan, who were the lights of her life; sisters, Susan (Leslie) Clark, Donna (Brian) Levy, and Betty (Garnet) Cox; brothers, Garnet (Elaine), Doug (Joanne), Joe (Laurie), Randy (Jocelyn), John (Alda), Tim (Linda), and Dan (Cathy) Lake; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Greta was predeceased by her beloved son, Brian. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 16 from 7-9pm at J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Summerville, with a funeral service on Friday, August 17 at 2pm at Kempt United Baptist Church, Summerville, Rev. Garnet Parker officiating, with a reception to follow at the Bramber New Horizons Hall. Private interment at Bramber Cemetery.
