Scott, I remember Margaret so clearly. For several years, she was my next door neighbour at DAHS. It was reassuring to have one so wise right beside me in those early years. She was an inspiration for us as we began our careers. We learned so much from her...about children, about teaching, about the really important things in our profession. We also learned about having strength and a willingness to stand up for what we believed in. She was always dressed so well, but it was her smile that you saw. Always a sincere smile for everyone. She positively affected the lives of not only hundreds of "Shore Kids", but many "Shore" teachers as well. We are all better people for having known her. My condolences to you and all the family.

"Mrs Faulkner" as we always knew her, taught me in my first 3 years of school. She was a great teacher but kept us all in line. Put up with no " Tom-Foolery",but was very helpful to anyone who wanted to learn. We often wondered how she could write on the blackboard , with her back to the class, and still know who threw the eraser or paper airplane.Classes were quiet in those days(not like today). You never spoke without raising your hand for permission to do so. My times in the corner where usually for talking or laughing at what someone else was doing. If Mrs Faulkner knew you were having problems in certain areas, she would talk with your parents, as she knew them all personally. I had the privledge of speaking to her a few times in my later years. A very nice lady who will be greatly missed. God Bless her family and may she Rest in Peace with God.

Mrs Faulkner was the first teacher that I ever had, that despite a whole classroom of maybe 40 pupils, could discern exactly who needed encouragement and when. And she gave it gracefully and directly and in a way that did not single you out so as to later solicit teasing from the other students. I am glad that I was able to remind her of this on several occasions in the past few decades. I will always remember Mrs Faulkner and her wisdom.

We are so saddened to read of Margaret’s passing . Very strangely we were at the cemetery this afternoon and read the headstone for Earl and Mark. I mentioned to Don that we hadn’t seen Margaret for some time. She was a lovely lady and Don has very clear memories of his time in her classroom.
