Obituary of Ruth Main

Ruth Alda (Lawrence) Main- 83, born June 29, 1929, she was a daughter of the late John and Eudora (O'Brien) Lawrence, passed away peacefully at home in Noel Shore, Hants County, Nova Scotia on March 30, 2013. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her. Ruth taught for 21 years as a classroom and circuit music teacher in East Hants. She loved learning, teaching, and travelling. She is survived by her children Barbara Main (Dan Palmateer), Lisa (Albert) Annand, Andrew (Linda), Bill (Robin), and Michael (Becky) Main; grandchildren Jim Palmateer and Hannah, Martin and Mary Main; and many nieces and nephews; younger siblings Helen, Alan, Douglas and Terry (Margie) Lawrence; Ruth was predeceased by her husband Hugh Main, older sister Lillian Hill, brothers-in-law Ralph Hill and Ross Main, and sister-in-law Beverly Lawrence. Words cannot express the gratitude of the family to Linda and other careworkers for making it possible for Ruth to remain comfortably at home to the end of her life. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 3rd from 7-9 p.m. in the J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Hwy 354, Kennetcook. Funeral service will be held Thursday April 4th at 2;30 p.m. in the Noel United Church, Noel. Rev. Natalie Buchanan-Rutherford officating, followed by a time of reflection and light refreshments in the Church Hall and a private family burial in the Noel Shore Cemetery.
