Obituary of Ernest Scott Harvie

HARVIE – Ernest Scott, age 75, of Nine Mile River, passed away at home on March 25, 2018. Born in Rawdon Gold Mines on January 13, 1943, he was a son of the late Seymour and Edna (Barron) Harvie. Ernie was a skilled flooring installer, working for Charlton Flooring for over 35 years, and was an active member of the Anglican Parish of St. Paul’s. He loved his snowmobile, enjoyed watching hockey and playing board games, and was very competitive. He was a great husband, dad, and grandfather, and will be dearly missed. Ernie is survived by his wife of 52 years, Eva (Barron); his sons, Avery and Kenneth (Kathy); his daughter, Carolyn (Rick); grandchildren, Ria and Aubrey; step-grandchildren, Noah, Anna, and Eva; siblings, Aubrey (Pauline), Elsie Wile, Etta Fletcher, Cora Dalrymple, Gary (Paulette), Keith (Marilyn), Laurie (Sheila), and Faye Buchanan (Don White); and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Ernie was predeceased by his daughter, Kathryn, and beloved family members Russell Wile, Robert Fletcher, Edmund Dalrymple, Hughie Buchanan, Maudie Harvie, Embert Northup, and Tom Barron. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 28 from 6:30-8:30pm with a funeral service on Thursday, March 29 at 1pm, both at J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Kennetcook, Rev. Carson J. Baxter officiating, followed by a private interment in West Gore Cemetery and reception at Lower Nine Mile River Community Center.
