Obituary of John Wayne Wells
WELLS – John Wayne, age 72, of Clarksville, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2018 surrounded by his loving family at the QEII in Halifax. Born in Windsor on January 19, 1945, he was the son of the late Arthur and Mildred (Young) Wells.John was a remarkable soul whose world revolved around his family, children and especially his grandchildren. He was everyone's Uncle John and he left his mark on everyone who met him. John enjoyed his long career in construction, meeting many friends along the way. He spent his free time bass fishing, working on his camp with his boys and listening to country classics with the occasional beer. John was a selfless man who devoted his whole life to helping his family and others. His smile and stories will live on through us all. John is survived by his wife of 47 years, Carol (Mosher); children, Marnie (Paul) McLellan, Jody (Cheyanne), Shane (Carnita), and Heidi (Jason) Brown; grandchildren, Evan, Holly, and Ethan McLellan; Sydney and Lincoln Wells; Cody, Dylan, and Nicholas Wells; and Chase and Camryn Brown; and sisters, Polly (Bob) Clark and Emma (Jerry) Benedict. Besides his parents, John was predeceased by his sisters, Janie Fancy and Millie Fenton; parents-in-law Basil and Lois (Card) Mosher; sister-in-law Natalie; Caring aunt and uncle Jane and Pat Sloan, cousin Pauline and infant nephew Tommy. Cremation has taken place with no visitation by request; a memorial service will be held on Friday, January 12 at 11am at J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Kennetcook, Rev. Carson Baxter and Rev Alex Mosher officiating, with a reception immediately following at the Stanley Community Hall. Private family interment.
