Obituary of Andrew "Andy" Simpson White

WHITE – Andrew “Andy” Simpson, age 66, of Upper Kennetcook, passed away on November 13, 2017 at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in White Settlement on May 18, 1951, he was the son of Hazel White and the late Alfred White. Andy worked in construction all his life for various companies, and spent a good number of years with Rossignol Construction. On the weekends he could be found in the woods or on the farm looking after his animals. He was known as a hard-working man with a kind heart, who was always ready to help anyone. Andy is survived by his wife, Edie (Hawkins); his children, Nancy (Tyler) and Jim (Sue); his grandchildren, Brittany, Nicholas, Shane, Josh, Matt, and Mike; his mother, Hazel White; his brothers, Randall (Heather), Norman (Janet), Rennie (Judy), and Lloyd (Colleen); and his sister, Susan (Keith) Rhyno. Besides his father, Andy was predeceased by his nephew, Joey White. Special thanks to Dr. Michele MacLean, Dr. Sarah McLernon, and the nurses at CEHHC for their care and kindness. Cremation has taken place; visitation will be held on Thursday, November 16 from 7-9pm with a memorial service on Friday, November 17 at 2pm, both at J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Kennetcook, Rev. Natalie Buchanan-Rutherford officiating. Reception to follow at the Little White Hall, Noel Road. Private interment at a later date.
