Obituary of Ada Coolen

COOLEN- Ada, Irene, age 54, of Upper Kennetcook. It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our dear wife, mother, and grandmother, Ada Irene Coolen, at her home on April 17, 2017. Born in Halifax on April 30, 1962 to Mildred (Tower) Stright and the late Norman Stright, Ada loved to spend time with her grandchildren. After surviving breast cancer in 2012, she enjoyed traveling down south with sisters and nieces in the colder months. She just enjoyed life and loved to laugh and have a good time. Ada will be sadly missed by her husband, Earl; daughters, Dawn Marie (Jerry), and Melissa (Curtis); and the ones of whom she was most proud, her grandchildren, Evan, 11; Berkley, 9; Jackson, 6; Wesley, 6; and her only granddaughter, MacKenzie Grace, 5. Also left behind is her mother, Mildred Stright, her siblings, Violet (Norman) Allen, Helen (Joe) Arsenault, Brayden Stright (Micheline), Phyllis (Stan) Meagher, Elizabeth (Ray) Campbell, Glenn Stright, Starr Stright, and Peter (Noreen) Stright; as well as her many nieces and nephews. Besides her father, she was predeceased by her brothers, Frederick and Shane, in infancy. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Ada's life will be held on April 23, 2017 from 2-4pm at the Little White Hall, Noel Road.
