Obituary of Nelson White

WHITE - Nelson Merton, of Noel Road, passed away at home on his 74th birthday, March 6, 2017. Born in Noel Road in 1943, he was a son of the late Vincent and Florence (Burgess) White. Nelson enjoyed horseracing and playing cards and was a fan of the Toronto Blue Jays. He will be missed by family and friends, including his best buddy, Snowball. Nelson is survived by his wife, Donna (Scott); children, Lesa (John) Hamilton and Ricky (Beth); grandchildren, Kyle (Charlotte), Megan (Colton), Delaney, Noah, Sophie, and Shanique; siblings, Paul (Marie), Murray (Sharon), Russell (Kathy), and Gwen; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Nelson was predeceased by his brothers, Maurice and Terry; sister-in-law, Linda; and brother-in-law, Royce. Cremation has taken place with no visitation by request. A graveside committal service open to all will be held in St. James Presbyterian Cemetery, Noel Road on Sunday, March 19 at 2pm, Rev. Angus R. MacDonald officiating. Special thanks to the VON, Dr. Michele MacLean, the doctors and nurses at CEHHC and the QEII, St. James Presbyterian Church, and Rev. Gus MacDonald for their care and kindness.
