Obituary of Verna Laffin

LAFFIN - Verna Marie, age 78, of Moose Brook, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2017 at Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in East Walton on May 17, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Atwood and Harriet "Hattie" (McLellan) McLellan. Verna worked for a few years as a cook for Freemasons. She enjoyed dancing, country music, seniors' functions and jam sessions; and loved knitting mittens and socks. In addition to being a homemaker, Verna was a caregiver to many. Verna is survived by her husband, Albert; daughter, Judy (John); son, Randy (Sue); niece, Susie (Gerry); grandsons, Jamie and Johnathan; granddaughter, Anna; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty (Mac) and Debbie; brothers, Gerry (Carol) and Tony; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Verna was predeceased by her sister Hilda and brother Ronald. Visitation will be held at 1pm before the funeral service at 2pm on Thursday, March 2, both at J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Kennetcook, Rev. Garnet Parker officiating. Private interment in Tennycape Cemetery.
