HARVEY - Annie Laura, age 79, of Windsor, formerly of Scotch Village, passed away on January 29, 2017 at Dykeland Lodge, Windsor. Born in Windsor on December 10, 1937, she was a daughter of the late William and Alice (Rushforth) Harvey. Annie was well-known for her homemade pies, chocolates, and preserves. She held various housekeeping jobs, including working for the late Lawrence Sanderson, with whom she traveled extensively throughout Canada and the eastern U.S. along with her cat, Buffy. She loved animals, especially cats and dogs. Annie is survived by her sister, Minnie (Hugh) Burgess, Newport Station; brother, John "Jackie" (Louise), Middleton; sister-in-law Linda Harvey, Windsor; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brothers Daniel and Louis, sister-in-law Louise; half-sisters Lillian, Bessie, and Gladys; and half-brothers Jimmy and Eddie in infancy. Cremation has taken place with no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 11am at Newport Baptist Church, Scotch Village, Rev. Debra Mosher officiating, with a reception to follow in the church basement. Private family interment at Scotch Village Cemetery following the service. To maintain Annie's spirit of kindness and willingness to help others, the family asks that donations in her memory be made to Dykeland Lodge, where a fund has been set up to assist an employee who has met with unfortunate circumstances.
