BURNS - Sherill Faye, age 68, of Kennetcook, passed away on January 16, 2017 at home. Born on April 5, 1948 in Noel Road, she was a daughter of the late Henry Green and Beatrice White. Sherill was definitely a true "Noel Roader". She loved spending a lot of time quilting, camping, and travelling. Sherill played softball in her younger years, and was an active member in the Noel Road Community Club, Presbyterian Church, and the Kennetcook Fire Department. She was always available to help out with anything going on in the community, and worked for home care for many years. Sherill also curled for many years until her illness took over, and attended the games until recently. She will be dearly missed by family, friends, and her very special four-legged girl, Maggie. Sherill is survived by her husband, Leroy; sons Timmy (Ronda), Upper Kennetcook; and Jason (Roseann), Eastern Passage; grandsons Troy (Amanda), Minasville; and Marcell, Halifax; sisters Heather, Noel Road; Gloria and Shelley, both of East Noel; brother Carman, Noel Road; and lots of nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Sherill was predeceased by her grandparents, Pearl and Jehu Harvey. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 19 from 7-9pm with a memorial service on Friday, January 20 at 2pm, both at J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Kennetcook, Rev. Angus R. MacDonald officiating. Following the service there will be a private family committal at St. James Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Noel Road, and a reception at the Little White Hall, Noel Road. Special thanks to the VON workers and Dawn Ross and Dr. Henderson of the Palliative Care Team. Donations in memory of Sherill may be made to St. James Presbyterian Church, c/o Carolyn Miller, 7201 Hwy 354, Kennetcook, BON 1PO or a charity of one's choice.
