Obituary of Donna McLellan

MCLELLAN - Donna Mae (Murphy), age 77, of Windsor, NS, formerly of Cambridge, Hants Co. It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother at Hants Community Hospital, Windsor on January 9, 2017. Born on February 26, 1939 in Riverside, Hants Co. and raised in Cheverie, Donna was the daughter of the late Bernard Murphy and Christina (Sanford) Murphy of Cheverie and later stepfather Herbert Lake of Cambridge. Donna lived for her family and talking about her grandchildren and step-grandchildren. She loved all animals, especially the birds at her family home in Cambridge. Donna had a huge heart and would show this often by feeding the neighbourhood children that called her "Mum" when they came over to play. She never had an unkind word for anyone, and was dearly loved by all that knew her. The strongest woman we will ever know. Donna was the wife of the late Reginald Frank McLellan and is survived by her sons, Steven, Cambridge; Bradley (Glenda), Avonport; Kevin, Kentville; and Frank (Tracy-Marie), Kentville; two grandchildren, Marlene Donna and Craig William McLellan, Kentville; two step grandchildren, Shawn Hawboldt and Andrea Sherman and three step great-grandchildren Dominic, Cassandra & Damien Hawboldt, all of Edson, Alta.; sister-in-law Grace Webber, Cambridge; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Donna was predeceased by a daughter, Marsha Maureen, in infancy. We would like to take this time to thank the staff at Dykeland Lodge and Hants Community Hospital for their compassionate care. Cremation has taken place; visitation will be held at J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home in Summerville on Sunday, January 15 from 2-4pm with a private family committal at a later date.
