Obituary of Phyllis Sanford

Sanford, Phyllis Maxine-72, Walton, passed away peacefully on January 15th, 2013,in the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, surrounded by her family, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Burlington, she was a daughter of the late Sidney and Freda (Mann) Walker. Phyllis was a loving wife, mother, and grand-mother. She enjoyed a good book, going for a walk, and spending time with friends. She was a home maker most of her life raising her family. She also spent many years providing child care for numerous families, as well as a home care support worker. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends and her cat Kelly. She is survived by her partner, Eugene (Cliff) Henderson, ,Daughters- Kim Edwards (Billy), Newport Station, Kathy Phillips (Mark), Brooklyn, Step Daughter Jackie Parker (Lawrence), Ashdale and Step Son Jerry Henderson (Wendy), Ontario, her grandchildren , Amanda Miner, Sheldon Miner (Ellen), Amy Phillips (Andrew Devine), Meagan Phillips (Jon Bonin), Lauren Edwards (Chad Lonsdale), Lisa Parker (Ben Redden), Evan Parker and Patty & Kenny Henderson, her great grandchildren Baylie-Shea Wile and Luke & Claire Miner, sisters Hazel Archibald -Halifax, Delta Lake - Summerville and brother, Doug Walker (Linda), - Quispamsis, NB, She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Beside her parents she was predeceased by her husband Bill Sanford, brothers Sidney "Junior"., Walter, and Sister Wendy in infancy.
Cremation has taken place with no visitation by request. A public graveside committal service will be held Friday, January 18, at 2 p.m. in the Grace United Church Cemetery, Walton. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Canadian Cancer Society or HantsCommunityHospital.
The family would like to thank good friend, Dr. Leahy, Dr. Mark Kazimirski, the palliative care team at HantsCommunityHospital and Kevin Mason.
