Rines, Lynda Merrill - age 68, of Kennetcook, passed away on February 7, 2016 at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Berwick on December 17, 1947, she was a daughter of the late Clyde and Norma (Ackles) Ettinger. Although Lynda had spent her younger years living in many places in the world, she was a true Maritimer at heart. She loved music, and all throughout her life she loved to sing; she had very fond memories of her parents playing music while she and her siblings sang. Lynda worked as the night shift supervisor at the Quick Freeze in Summerside, PEI. Later, she and Garry spent many summers as groundskeepers at the Dunromin Campground, where they made many wonderful friends and enjoyed lots of good times. Lynda loved to play darts, and had played in several leagues. She enjoyed gardening, crafting, playing cards, bingo, and Scrabble. She was happiest when she was spending time with her family and friends, and always loved going hunting and fishing with Garry. Lynda is survived by her brother, James Ettinger; son, David Crozier; her daughter, Cindy Elliott; grandchildren, Shandi Comier, Kendall Wile, Jeremy and Timothy Crozier, and Shalena and Josie Kelly; great-grandchildren, Damieon Cormier, Jade, Skylin and Desteny Banks, and Amber Crozier; nieces, Zanda Leopold and Melody Robinson; nephews, James and Grant Ettinger, and several other nieces and nephews; and a "special" son, Brian Rines. Besides her parents, Lynda was predeceased by her spouse, Garry Gorman; her son, Eugene Crozier; and her sister, Dianne Richards. Cremation has taken place with no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 12, 2016 at 2pm at the J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Kennetcook, Rev. Angus R. MacDonald officiating, followed by a reception at the Kennetcook Fire Hall. Private family interment at a later date. Donations in memory of Lynda may be made to the Kennetcook Cemetery or the Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of the J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Hwy 354, Kennetcook, N.S. Ph-902-362-2440 or please visit our web site at www.allenfh.ca to sign the guest book or send private condolences.
