Ross, Doris Vivian, RN- 93, of Kennetcook. With quiet grace and dignity, our mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on Friday, November 13, 2015 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Kennetcook on November 17, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Guy and Cassie (White) Barron. Doris graduated from the Aberdeen School of Nursing and spent most of her career serving at the Hants Community Hospital in Windsor, retiring as head night nurse. She enjoyed her retirement and spent most of her time with family and friends. Doris was blessed to have so many wonderful friends and neighbours whom she kept in close contact with. She was an avid reader, enjoyed her daily crossword and was an enthusiastic Toronto Blue Jays fan. She enjoyed attending the many card parties that were held in Noel and Kennetcook. Doris was an active member of the Kennetcook United Church as well as a life member of the UCW. She will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by son, Donald (Valerie); daughter, Catherine; grandchildren, Jason (Nicole) Ross, Nicholas Ross, Christopher Ross, Kelsey Ross, Erica Ross, Michael Lunn and Cory Lunn; great grandchildren, Holly, Chloe, Addison, Mason and Connor; sister in law, Estelle Barron; as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Doris was predeceased by her brothers, Lyle, Lancelot, and Lester. A special thank you to Fred and Evelyn Sutherland for their friendship and weekend visits as well as to the Palliative Care Team at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre for their care and kindness. Cremation has taken place, with no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 19th at 2pm, in Kennetcook United Church, Kennetcook, with Rev. Anne Hoganson, officiating. Private family interment will be in the Kennetcook Cemetery. Reception will follow in the Kennetcook Fire Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kennetcook Cemetery or charity of choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of the J.
