Obituary of Lisa Wood
Please share a memory of Lisa to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Lisa Dawn Wood, age 33, Brooklyn, Hants County, passed away at QEII Health Sciences Centre on May 10, 2015. It is with profound sadness that we say good-bye to our Hants County warrior. Through her blog: http://livinglovinglaughingfighting.blogspot.ca. Lisa was able to put into words her daily battle with cancer. She touched the lives of so many inspiring and motivating people all over the world. Her courage, strength, determination and fear was put before all to read. Lisa brought people together in a way like no other. She taught us all how to fight for what you believe and want. Lisa was a REALTOR® with Annapolis Valley Real Estate Board and she helped many families fulfil their dream of owning a home. She fulfilled her obligations as a REALTOR® the same way she did everything in life - with compassion, attention to detail and professionalism, to be sure her clients were taken care of. Lisa was a friend like no other. Like the words of the song "Find Out Who Your Friends Are" she was the fearless leader who all her "Buds" could go to and was there any time of day or night. Lisa held you accountable through your own life journey, always there to offer advice but letting you choose your own path at the same time ("right little sister, Theresa"). Lisa is survived by her "Rock," "Soulmate," and best friend, her husband Kyle McLellan; her beautiful children, Livia Shaun (5) and Grady Ryan (19 Months). She will live on in these precious little beings. Lisa also leaves to mourn, her parents, Don & Debby Rose, Falmouth; her sisters, Theresa (Tony) Gillis, Onslow; Tammy (Andrew) Hilden, Falmouth; brother, Jim (Ann) Rose, Berwick. Lisa also leaves Kyle's parents, Connie & Herbie McLellan, Bramber and brother-in-law, Tyler (Alison) McLellan, Brooklyn; her biological father, David (Beatrice) Wood, Mount Denson; her maternal grandmother, Dorothy McCulloch, Elmsdale; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins, in-laws, co-workers, followers and supporters all over Hants County. Special mention to her dear, sweet, Aunt Darlene (Mac) Burgess, Rawdon; and her best "Buds" Mandy, LeeAnn, Alison, Liz, Jean, on and on. God Bless you all! Lisa was predeceased by her brother, David Wood; brother-in-law, Darren McNeil; sister-in-law, Kim Rose; grandparents, Grant McCulloch, Harry & Mary Wood and James & Ida Rose. Cremation has taken place with visitation Monday May 18, 2015 from 6-9 p.m. in the Brooklyn Civic Centre, Brooklyn, N.S. Donations to a trust fund for Livia and Grady may be made at the Scotiabank branch in Windsor, N.S., with cheques made payable to Kyle McLellan/Debby Rose in trust for Livia and Grady. Lisa's family would like you to join them for a celebration of her life "Hants County" style at Peterson's Campground, Kempt Shore. Bring your picnic, chairs and guitars. Lisa loved a good party and this is what she shall have. Date and time will be announced when final arrangements are complete. At Lisa's request, her arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of the J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Summerville, N.S. Ph 902-633-2431 or please visit our web site at www.allenfh.ca to sign the guest book or send private condolences. HANTS COUNTY STRONG! F U CANCER!
