Obituary of Winnifred "Winnie" Marshall

MARSHALL, Winnifred Kathleen "Winnie", age 78, of Summerville, Hants Co., passed away peacefully on March 30, 2015 at the VG Hospital, Halifax, surrounded by her loving family. Born In Mount Denson on October 6, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Rev. George and Annie (Macumber) Spencer. Winnie was one of the original founding members of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Summerville Volunteer Fire Dept., and a past member of Women's Ministries. She was a lifelong member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church, Lower Burlington. Her commitment to being a follower of Jesus gives her the keys to heaven. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her friends, crafts, and community were very dear to her. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Winnie is survived by her husband, Frank, Summerville; daughter Kathy (Murray), son Wade (Wendy), both of Lower Sackville; and son Fred, at home; grandchildren Andrew, Tara, Arielle, Jaclyn and Stephanie; great-grandchildren Dawson, Skie, William and Dresden; brothers Ron (Phyllis) Spencer, Royce (Juliette) Spencer, both of Summerville; and Dale Spencer, Windsor. Winnie was predeceased by her sister, Marion; brothers, Fred and Lawrence; and an infant sister, Alice. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2015 from 7-9pm at the J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Summerville, with a funeral service on Friday, April 3, 2015 at 2pm in the Pentecostal Holiness Church, Lower Burlington, followed by a private family committal at the Loyal Hill Cemetery, Summerville. Following the service there will be a reception at the Summerville Fire Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Winnie may be made to the Pentecostal Holiness Church.
