Brown - Margaret Frances, age 87, of Bramber. Mum took her final breath, quietly and peacefully, at Hants Community Hospital on November 1, 2014, with her children watching over her. Born on January 23, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Laurie and Alice (Pratt) Caldwell of Summerville. Frances received her early education in the two-room school in Summerville, then attended the Provincial Normal College in Truro. She taught school for a total of 30 years; one year in North Noel Road, nine years in the two-room school in Bramber, and twenty years in the Primary classroom at Dr. Arthur Hines School in Summerville. Frances was a member of the Kempt United Baptist Church. Throughout her lifetime, she played an active role in her church as well as her community as a Sunday School teacher, CGIT Explorer and Mission Band leader, and member of various groups. Frances is survived by her children, Marilyn (Dennis) Macumber, Bramber; Leslie (Dianna), Cheverie; and Myrna (Wayne) Swinamer, Three Mile Plains; 8 grandchildren, Velma Macumber, Windsor; Dennie (Laura) Macumber, Drayton Valley, Alberta; Jordan Macumber, Ellershouse, Justin (Ashley) Macumber, Ste. Croix; Ashley (Sarah) Brown, White Rock; Ryan (Kimberly) Brown, Cheverie; Jason (Tracey) Swinamer and Johnathan (Jen) Swinamer, both of Falmouth; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Frances was predeceased by her husband, Raymond (1970); her sister, Pearle Leighton (2003); her brother, Harold Caldwell (1994), and her grandson, Leland Macumber (1990). Our mother was a wise, generous, loving lady who shared her home, her heart, her talents, and her laughter with many over the years. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 3, 2014 at 2pm, followed by a funeral service at 3:30pm, Pastor Betty Parker officiating; both at the Kempt United Baptist Church, Summerville. Following the service there will be a private family committal service at the Bramber Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at the Hants Community Hospital, Bramber Cemetery, or Kempt United Baptist Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of the J Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Hwy 215, Summerville, ph-1-902-633-2431; please visit our website at www.allenfh.ca to sign the guest book or send private condolences.
