BURGESS, Maureen Doreen Ann, of Walton, NS. It is with great sadness the family wishes to inform friends and family of the passing of Maureen. On Thursday, October 16, 2014 Maureen passed away peacefully in the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor at the age of 74, surrounded by family and friends. Born on October 2, 1940 in Malartic, Quebec, she was a daughter of the late David and Annie (McNeil) Parker of Porters Lake. Maureen is survived by her daughter Tanya (Peter) Manuge, Carleton Place, Ont.; grandson Jason (Kate) Manuge, Kingston, Ont.; sisters, Peggy (Erwin) Burnett, Ottawa, Ont., Sally Carron, Edmonton, AB, and Christine Scott (Bill), Edmonton, AB; mother-in- law, Reta Smith, Dykeland Lodge, Windsor; and many nieces and nephews. Maureen was predeceased by her husband, Eldridge Burgess, Walton; her infant son, Miles Daniel; her parents, Dave and Annie Parker, Porters Lake; her sister, Kay Mannette, Edmonton, AB; and her brothers, Peter and Dan Parker. Cremation has taken place with no visitation or service by request. A private family burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hants Community Hospital. A special thank you is extended to all those friends and family members who spent time visiting, taking Maureen on outings, and helping with her care during the past three months. Your cards, flowers, gifts and visits were greatly appreciated.
