Obituary of Claire Singer

Singer, Claire Gwendolyn Ellen, of Minasville, passed away peacefully at home on October 14, 2014 at the age of 82 years, after a brief illness. Born in Tennecape on October 7, 1932, Claire was a daughter of the late Leslie and Pearl (Harvey) Lingard. She will be greatly missed by her family and numerous friends. Claire was a loving mother and grandmother. She doted on her grandchildren, who loved her dearly, and they will carry many fond memories of their wonderful years with her. Claire is survived by her daughters; Jan Singer, at home, Joan Worth, of Kinsac, and Jocelyn White, of Kinsac; grandchildren, Cindy White (Chris Russell), of Sutherland Lake, and Scott (Naomi) Worth, of Halifax; step-great-granddaughter Nyra Bradbury, of Ontario; sisters, Evelyn (Alton) Lake, of East Walton, and Paulette Sanford, of Kennetcook; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Claire was predeceased by her husband, James Singer; a baby son, James Leslie; a great-granddaughter, Katherine Marie Worth; a sister, Kathleen Davis; and niece Becky Lake. Cremation has taken place with no visitation by request. There will be a private family graveside service at Moosebrook Cemetery on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 11:30am, Rev. Natalie Buchanan-Rutherford officiating. Following the service there will be a Celebration of Life at noon at the Minasville Hall for family and friends to join us with memories and stories of Claire.
