Obituary of Anne McKinley

McKinley (MacLellan), Anne Mae, 65, of Cheverie, NS, passed away on August 13, 2014 in the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor after a brief illness, with her loving family by her side. Born in Windsor on August 25, 1948, Anne was a daughter of the late John Angus "Jack" and Margaret Isabelle "Belle" (MacIssac) MacLellan. Anne enjoyed being with her husband, daughters, grandson, "granddog" Max, siblings, family and friends. She also loved baking, four-wheeling, and fishing with her husband, gardening, being active outdoors, and shopping with her daughters, family and friends. She always enjoyed having a large crowd around her. Anne worked in Halifax at the Bank of Montreal for six years before she decided to take a temporary leave of absence to raise her beautiful children. She returned to work at the Victory Credit Union for eighteen years, until her retirement at the age of 59. Anne is survived by her beloved husband, Ronald Arthur McKinley, of Cheverie; two daughters, Nancy McKinley (Donald Patterson), of Cheverie, and Gayle McKinley (Brian Newton), of Ashdale; grandsons, Michael Jeffrey McKinley Harvie and Bradley Lewis White; her two brothers, Ronald (Margie) MacLellan, of Welland, Ont., and Joseph (Elaine) MacLellan, of Lake Echo; two sisters, Betty MacDonald (Gerald Howlett), of Mosherville, and Deborah Sanford, of Halifax; and many special nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Anne was predeceased by her son, Jeffrey Ronald McKinley. Following Anne's passing, her brother-in-law Ralph Sanford passed away on August 15, 2014. Cremation has taken place, with visitation to be held on Thursday, August 21, 2014 from 6:30-9pm at the J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Summerville. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 22, 2014 at 2pm in the Cheverie United Church, Rev. Garnet Parker officiating, followed by a reception in the church basement, with a private family committal service at the Cheverie United Cemetery. Family flowers only; donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of the J.
