Obituary of Stanley Venner

Stanley Parker Venner, 76, passed away suddenly on May 1, 2014 at his home in Tenecape, NS. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Harvey and Kathryn (Parker) Venner. Stanley joined the RCAF after graduating from Queen Elizabeth High School in Halifax. He was an electronics technician and after leaving the RCAF he taught electronics in Ontario schools for two years. Returning to Nova Scotia he was employed by the Canadian Coast Guard stationed in Dartmouth. He was responsible for the repair and automation of the lighthouses on the Atlantic coast. Stanley was a loyal friend, avid gardener and great animal lover who adopted many cats and dogs. He was always interesting to speak with. He is survived by his sister, Joan Alice Stronach, nephews John Stronach of Virginia Beach VA and Howard Stanley Stronach of Washington, D.C., and cousin Dennis Bowes of Halifax. Stanley was predeceased by his brother-in-law Dr. Carey Stronach. A memorial service will be held on Saturday August 9, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Hwy 215, Summerville, followed by a graveside burial at the Tenecape Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the SPCA or Canadian Heart Association.
