Obituary of Doris Lunn

Please share a memory of Doris to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Doris Gertrude Lunn Age 77 of Centre Burlington, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2025, at Hants Community Hospital, Windsor. Born in Riverside on January 25,1948, she was the beloved daughter of the late Preston Edgar Masters and Myrtle Alice (Sanford) Benedict. Doris worked as a hairdresser for 40 years and was known for her vibrant spirit and sharp sense of humor. A prankster and teaser at heart, she loved making people laugh wherever she went. Doris enjoyed playing broomball and darts, but her greatest happiness came from spending time with her family and cooking big, hearty meals. Her seafood chowder, spaghetti sauce, and homemade bread were legendary among those who knew and loved her. Honest to the core, Doris was the one you could always count on to tell you the truth — whether you were ready for it or not. She lived her life by her own words: “Life is never easy,” and “I did it my way.” Before her passing, she left a final, heartfelt message to all who loved her: “Goodbye, I love you.” Family meant everything to Doris. She was a devoted sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. She is survived by her sons, Trevor and Troy (Jennifer); her stepchildren, Jennifer (Spit), Matthew (Kenya), and Jocelyn; her granddaughters, Katherine Brown and Jennifer Brown; and her grandchildren and great children, Yordann Brown, Krystall Brown, Autumn Brown, Jamie Brown, Mikaela Sanford, Michael Sanford, Madison Brown, Aiden Sanford, Parker Sanford, Dontay Stevenson, Layo Webber, Mikaela and Sullivan. She is also survived by her brother Wayne, and her sisters Marguerite (Harold) Wile and Juanita (Donnie Grimes) and her beloved “baby cat”. Doris was predeceased by her husbands, Garnet Lunn and Graham Sanford; her brothers Delbert, Ronald, Wilbert, and Stephen; her sister Phyllis; and her beautiful granddaughter Haley. A celebration of life will be held May 3, 2025, from 11am to 1 pm at The Centre Burlington Hall. Pastor Charlene Arseneau Reid will share her message along with a few others. A private graveside service will be held at later date. Doris’s legacy of laughter, honesty, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of the J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Hwy 215, Summerville, N.S.
